Preview

The Colorado Buffaloes will host the USC Trojans for a Pac-12 matchup this evening..

The Trojans stormed out to a 13-0 start and figures to compete for another Pac-12 title. Conference play hasn't been as smooth for the Trojans, and they were handed their first loss of the season last time out by Oregon, 79-69.

The Buffaloes responded to a road loss to Arizona with a thumping victory over Arizona State last weekend. An explosive second half would lead to Colorado pulling away with a 20-point win.

USC Trojans

Isaiah Mobley leads the charge after forming a tough tandem with his brother Evan last season. The 6'10 big has been a force on both ends of the floor, he leads the team in both scoring (15.3) and rebounding (9.2)

Chevez Goodwin joins Mobley up front, and the 6'9 forward double-doubled in the win over Oregon State, and he's second on the team in scoring (13.2) and rebounding (7.1).

Boogie Ellis may have found a home in Los Angeles. The former Memphis guard is averaging 12.6 ppg, good for third on the team.

Drew Peterson brings a versatile skill set to the table, and does just about everything right. Peterson's averaging 11.1 ppg, 5.8 rpg, and a team-leading 3.2 apg.

Colorado Buffaloes

Jabari Walker is really beginning to come into his own in year two. The 6'9 sophomore posted four straight double-doubles to end November, and he scored 18 points in the win over Arizona State. Walker leads the team in both scoring (13.5) and rebounding (8.5), and could be an all PAC-12 player this season.

Walker messes well with frontcourt mate Evan Battey, as the 259-pound senior command the attention in the middle. Battey scored a season-high 20 points in the win over the Cougars, but foul trouble has plagued him over the past few weeks.

Sophomores Keeshawn Barthelemy and Tristan da Silva have seen their roles grow in year two as well. Barthelemy orchestrates the offense, and averages a well-rounded 11.5 ppg, 3.2 rpg, and a team-leading 2.8 apg.

Prediction

This could actually end up being a very physical, low scoring affair considering the mutual strengths of both teams. If Colorado is able to defend and hit timely shots, just as they've done at home all season, they'll have a good chance to bless bettors here.
