Preview

The Stanford Cardinal will welcome the Oregon Ducks to town this weekend. Stanford lost their last outing at home to UCLA, while Oregon was able to open up conference play with a win over Arizona.

Offensive matchup
Oregon

Anthony Brown had another strong start in Eugene last weekend. The BC transfer went 10-21 for 206 passing yards and three touchdowns.

CJ Verdell had a strong first month of the season. After rushing for over 2,000 yards in his first two seasons, the junior back has run for 343 yards on 61 carries with five touchdowns through the first four games. Travis Dye has complimented him well with 286 rushing yards and two scores.

The Ducks haven't had to throw much through the first four weeks, and Johnny Johnson III leads the team with 10 catches for 148 receiving yards and a touchdown. Tight end Terrance Ferguson has scored in each of the past two games.

Stanford

Tanner McKee had another strong start against the Bruins. The sophomore quarterback went 19-32 for 293 passing yards and three touchdowns. His play has been steady, but he hasn't had much help from the run game.

Nathaniel Peat and Austin Jones have split the touches through the first four weeks. Peat leads the team with 196 rushing yards on 27 carries, and two touchdowns. Jones missed last weekend's contest, but he's run for 118 yards on 26 touches, and caught seven passes for 93 yards.

Brycen Tremayne has given McKee a consistent threat on the outside early. The senior wideout leads the team with 17 catches for 197 receiving yards, and he's scored in each of the first four games.

Defensive matchup

Oregon has been strong and physical on both sides of the ball, getting to the quarterback three or more times in each of the first four games.

Stanford's defense has struggled to stop the run over the pass three weeks, giving up over 200 yards twice.

Prediction

It won't come easy, but the Ducks are trustworthy. Oregon's run game should overwhelm Stanford's vulnerable defense, and they should earn their fifth win of the season. It won't come easy, but the Ducks are trustworthy. Take Oregon's game spread this weekend.

PICK: Oregon Ducks -7.5
