Preview

Big East basketball is back in full swing, and the Marquette Golden Eagles will travel to DC and take on the Georgetown this Friday.

Marquette responded to four straight losses with a blowout home victory over Providence, 88-56. The Golden Eagles took a huge lead into halftime and didn't look back, handing the Friars their second loss of the season.

Georgetown finally added a quality non-conference victory by defeating former Big East rival Syracuse at home, but they've been out of action for a full three weeks coming into this one.

Marquette (9-6)

Justin Lewis Lewis thriving in his second season in Milwaukee. The 6'7 forward put up a season-high 23 points in the win over Providence and he's leading the team in scoring (15.7) and rebounding (8.2)

Darryl Morsell has cooled off a bit after a trio of 20-point performances to open the season. The Maryland transfer is second on the team in scoring (13.3), while grabbing 3.5 rpg.

Tyler Kolek brings a ton of versatility to the lineup. The George Mason transfer leads the team in assists (6.1), while scoring 6.5 ppg and grabbing 4.1 rpg.

Kur Kuath, an Oklahoma transfer, had a career-best seven blocks in the win over Providence, and he ranks third in the country in blocks per game (3.1).

Georgetown (6-5)

Georgetown lost a lot of production from last year's Big East tournament winning squad, but they were starting to come together prior to the stoppage.

Kaiden Rice has been one of the best marksmen in college basketball for three seasons, and he knocked a career-high 10 three pointers against UMBC, scoring 34 points along the way. Rice leads the team with 14.7 ppg.

Freshman guard Aminu Mohammed posted his fifth double-double of the season last time out. He's second on the team in scoring (14.5), while leading the Hoyas with 8.7 rpg.

Dante Harris has looked well running the offense this year after playing 30 minutes per game as a freshman. The 6'0 guard is averaging a well-rounded 12.9 ppg, 4.2 rpg, and a team-leading 5.3 apg.

Prediction

If Georgetown wasn't coming off of such a lengthy layoff, we'd like them at home here. Marquette just beat a 12-1 team by 30 points, and we like that momentum traveling to DC and taking care of what should be a rusty Hoyas squad.

Take Marquette's money line for this one.
