Preview

The Fresno State Bulldogs and the Boise State Broncos will battle it out for the Milk Can this weekend.

Boise State has struggled to find consistency this season. They've traded each of their first eight games, and now they enter their third daunting road trip of the season.

Fresno State has enjoyed a pretty strong season. They've won six of their last seven since a seven-point road loss to Oregon, and they look like the favorites to win the Mountain West.

Offensive matchup
Boise State (4-4)

Hank Bachmeier had a terrific start in the road win over Colorado State. The junior quarterback went 21-32 for 253 yards with three touchdown tosses to no interceptions. Bachmeier will need to be just as sharp in Fresno this weekend, and he's up to 2,203 passing yards with 15 touchdowns to five interceptions on the season.

Senior backs Cyrus Habibi-Likio and Andrew Van Buren make up the run game. Habibi-Likio paces the team with 242 rushing yards, while Van Buren leads with six rushing scores.

Khalil Shakir is one of the best receivers in college football and a focal point of the Boise offense. The senior receiver caught a season-high nine passes for 118 yards in the win over Colorado State, and he leads the Broncos with 49 catches for 777 receiving yards, and four touchdowns.

Fresno State (7-2)

Jake Haener has jumped onto NFL radars with an impressive senior season behind center. Haener had another strong performance last weekend, going 25-42 for 306 yards with a touchdown pass in the road win over San Diego State.

Ronnie Rivers and Jordan Mims have provided Fresno's pass-heavy attack with some stability in the backfield. Mims is coming off of a career-best 186 yards and two scores against SDSU, while Rivers leads the team with 573 rushing yards.

Fresno touts a talented group of pass catchers led by Jalen Cropper. The junior wideout leads the team with 61 catches for 664 receiving yards, while catching a Mountain West-leading 10 touchdowns. Josh Kelly and Keric Wheatfall join him on the outside, with the later scoring in each of the past two games.

Prediction

Fresno State has looked really potent offensively, being able to move the ball through the air and on the ground effectively. Boise hasn't been able to stop anyone this reason, uncharacteristically ranking near the bottom in every category in the Mountain West. Fresno should win this game handily, as Boise has been more of a name than anything this season.

Take the Bulldogs spread, and monitor the over with both offenses proving to be capable.

PICK: Fresno State -5.5
