The BYU Cougars will travel to the LA Coliseum and take on the USC Trojans this weekend.

BYU broke away from a resilient Georgia State team on the road last weekend. The Cougars were stout defensively, shutting the Eagles out in the second half, and picking up the 34-17 victory.

USC is having one of their roughest season's in school history. They enter this one on the heels of a bad loss to crosstown rival UCLA, and after giving up 62 points, the Trojans could be in for another long weekend.

Offensive matchup

BYU (9-2)

Jaren Hall continues to thrive behind center, and he had another strong start against Georgia Southern. The sophomore quarterback went 17-29 for a career-high 312 passing yards and two touchdown tosses.

Hall has thrown for 2,307 passing yards with eighteen touchdowns to three interceptions, while rushing for 281 yards and an three scores this season.

Tyler Allgeier is the star of the BYU offense. After posting back-to-back career performances rushing, including a career-best 266-yard, five-touchdown show against UVA, Allgeier is up to 1,293 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns for the season, and both rank in the top-5 nationally.

Neil Pau’u and Puka Nacua have stepped up in junior Gunner Romney's absence. Nacua has been on tear, putting up three straight 100-yard performances, and he now leads the in receiving yards (754). Pau'u has 526 yards, and he leads the team with 46 catches and six touchdown grabs.

USC (3-8)

Freshman Jaxson Dart has been thrusted into the starting QB role and he had a tough time against UCLA. The Utah native went 27-47 for 325 passing yards, but he only threw one touchdown to a pair of interceptions.

Keaontay Ingram has been a bright spot on a struggling Trojans team. The former Texas running back has posted a career-high 893 rushing, including three 100-yard performances over the past four weeks.

Fellow senior Vavae Malepeai will play his final game in the Coliseum, just one week after a three-touchdown performance against the Bruins.

Drake London's absence hasn't gone unnoticed, and it's hindered the passing game. Gary Bryant Jr. has somewhat blossomed in his absence, and he caught a career-best nine passes for 161 receiving yards and a score against the Bruins.

Prediction

BYU is on the brink of their first ever CFB Playoff appearance, while USC is still a mess. It's been a rough season in Southern Cal that saw a mid-season coaching change for the third time in a seven-year span.
