Preview
Tonight we have the Spurs traveling to Cleveland to take on the Cavaliers. Despite the emergence of Dejounte Murray the Spurs have struggled this season, mainly on the defensive side of the ball. The Cavaliers on the other hand have suprised many as they have put together a solid group of youngster's who actually know how to win games.
The Spurs come into this game struggling mightily as they have gone 5-12 in their last 17 games. The only injury concerns as of right now is Lonnie Walker who comes into the game with a Q tag with a knee injury. Ranking in the middle of the league defensively they could make this a close game as Cleveland isn't an offensive juggernaut as they win games on the defensive side of the ball. The Spurs will look to build off their win last time out against the Rockets and turn things around in a hurry.
It's no doubt that Cleveland has surpised many as I myself did not see this team competing at all this season, but here we are. Cleveland currently has the 7th best record in the NBA and have been stellar on the defensive side of the ball. They could be without Darius Garland as he enters this game with a Q tag due to a back injury that has held him out of Cleveland's last 4 games. They recently traded for Caris Levert to fill the gap left by Collin Sexton who went down with injury, an upgrade if you ask me. It has yet been determined if he will see the floor tonight though so check that news through out the day. The likes of Evan Mobley, Jarret Allen, and Kevin Love should have their way aginst San Antonio's bigs tonight as they are just better players on both sides of the ball.
Prediction
The Spurs have struggled since the beginning of January and I don't see that changing tonight against a tough defense in the Cavs. Dejounte Murray will continue to do his thing but I would expect the Cavs to try and get Caris Levert on the floor tonight who can match Murray's production. Cleveland's talented bigs should have their way tonight and lead to an easy win and cover. I'll be siding with the much better defensive team at home in this matchup.
PICK: Cavs -6.5 (-110)
