Preview

The Tulane Green Wave will welcome the Tulsa Golden Hurricane to the Bayou for an AAC matchup this weekend.

Tulsa nearly pulled off their biggest win in school history last weekend. In the first AAC contest to host College Gameday, the Golden Hurricane took the CFP Playoff bound Cincinnati Bearcats to the edge, and were within yards of a win. A goal line stand led to a 28-20 victory for Cinci.

Tulane has quietly had one of the toughest schedules in the nation, and they nearly picked up a road win over UCF last week. The Green Wave took a three-point lead into the final period before a late score would push UCF to victory, 14-10.

Offensive matchup
Tulsa (3-6)

Davis Brin has started all nine games this season, and he's returned decent results. He went 18-27 for 160 yards and a touchdown against a talented Cinci defense, but a costly fumble would ultimately decide the game.

Shamari Brooks has been a really strong runner over the past three weeks, and he turned 25 touches into 132 yards last weekend against Cincinnati. Brooks leads the team with 720 rushing yards and five scores.

Josh Johnson and JuanCarlos Santana form a solid tandem on the outside for the Golden Hurricane. Johnson leads the team with 52 receptions for 665 receiving yards. Santana caught a touchdown pass against the Bearcats, and he's second on the team with 35 catches and 506 yards.

Tulane (1-8)

Michael Pratt has only thrown picks in two of his eight starts this season, and he's quietly played well over the last three weeks. The redshirt freshman threw a pair of touchdown passes against Houston, and three against SMU on the road.

Cameron Carroll and Tyjae Spears split the touches for the Green Wave. Carroll leads the team with 476 rushing yards, but Spears has really got things going over his past four games. The redshirt freshman has scored in each game during that span, while gaining 333 rushing yards.

Tulane possesses a pedestrian passing game due to the absense of 2020 leading receiver Deuce Watts. Junior tight end Tyrick James leads the team in catches (27) and yards (380).

Prediction

Tulsa went through a lot of emotions playing in the College Gameday spot and nearly walking away with the victory. The Golden Hurricane need to win out to become bowl eligible, so they will enter New Orleans with a sense of urgency. We feel good trusting last week's momentum, and taking them to cover on the road here.

PICK: Tulsa -2.5
