Preview

The Texas A&M Aggies will travel and take on the Ole Miss Rebels for a top-15 ranked matchup this weekend with second place in the talented SEC West up for grabs.

Texas A&M has been on a tear since their home upset over Alabama. The Aggies stifled Auburn last weekend at Kyle Field, holding them to just three points and 226 total yards of offense, marking the fourth time they've held an opponent to ten points or less.

Ole Miss has the look of a dark horse contender. Despite dropping road games to Alabama and Auburn, the Rebels represent one of the best offenses in the SEC, led by one of the best offensive minds in football, Lane Kiffin. Ole Miss spoiled Hugh Freeze's homecoming last weekend, with a 27-3 victory over Liberty.

Offensive matchup
Texas A&M (7-2)

Zach Calzada has made timely throws when the Aggies have needed him the most this season. He didn't throw a touchdown last weekend, but he protected the football, avoiding an interception for the first time since Week 2. Calzada has thrown for 1,556 yards with 12 touchdowns to seven interceptions.

Isaiah Spiller plays a big role in the A&M offense. The junior running back turned 21 touches into 112 yards, marking his sixth 100-yard game of the season. If he gets things going on the road, the Aggies will have a good shot this weekend.

Spiller has rushed for 873 yards, caught 22 passes, and scored ten total touchdowns (9 rush, 1 rec) this season. Devon Achane gives A&M one of the best backfield combos in the country. After two big performances against Mizzou and South Carolina, Achane is up to 705 rushing yards on the season.

Ainias Smith serves as A&M most consistent threat outside, and he leads the team with 35 catches for 391 receiving yards and six touchdowns.

Ole Miss (7-2)

Matt Corral is one of the best quarterbacks in the country. He rebounded well last weekend in front of tons of NFL scouts, going 20-27 for 324 yards and a touchdown toss.

Corral's having a monster season, throwing for 2,527 with 16 touchdowns to two interceptions, while leading Ole Miss with 528 rushing yards and ten rushing touchdowns.

Ole Miss possess a talented running back trio in Jerrion Ealy, Henry Parrish Jr, and Snoop Conner. Conner is tied with Corral for the team lead in rushing touchdowns (10), while Parrish Jr. leads the backfield with 471 rushing yards. Ealy responded to a quiet game against Auburn by scoring from 70 yards out on the first play against Liberty.

Dontario Drummond continues to be a stud at wideout and his status for this weekend will be huge. Drummond leads the team by a mile with 40 catches for 658 receiving yards, but he missed last weekend's bout. His presence will be huge, as the Rebels may have to take more of a ground approach against a strong A&M team.

Prediction

This is going to be a battle of strength and finesse, and we're going to sway with the Saban protege and star quarterback at home here. Matt Corral is one of the few quarterbacks in the country who could give Texas A&M struggle. This game will weigh big on both Ole Miss' season and his draft stock, so look for him to show up under the lights.

Take the Rebels moneyline, and monitor the managable over carefully with A&M vaunted defense coming to town..
