Preview

The Phoenix Suns with welcome the youthful Houston Rockets to town Thursday night. The Suns are favored to take this Western Conference clash by 11 points at home.

The Rockets are coming off of their two best games of the season. Despite the final results, the Rockets took LeBron James and the Lakers to the brink Tuesday night. Houston took a six-point lead into halftime before a big second half from the King would lead Los Angeles to victory.

After starting 1-3, the Suns have recovered and won their last two games, with a third straight victory looking manageable. A big fourth quarter from the Phoenix lineup propelled them to victory over Chris Paul's former team, the New Orleans Pelicans.

Houston Rockets

The Rockets have run through three young pieces in Christian Wood, Jalen Green and Kevin Porter Jr.

Wood has his best game of the season against the Lakers. The sixth-year vet out of UNLV scored 26 points and grabbed 16 boards in the two-point loss, and he leads HTown in both points (20.1) and rebounds (12.1).

Rookie Jalen Green proved to be huge down the stretch for the Rockets. The #2 overall pick scored 24 points and shot 5-10 from deep, including two clutch threes to put a scare on the Lakers.

Kevin Porter Jr. came in late last season and contributed immediately. KPJ 's playing a bit out of position this season, but he's averaging a well-rounded 12.3 ppg, 4.3 rpg, and 5.4 apg.

Phoenix Suns

The Suns were missing big man DeAndre Ayton last time out, but seasoned veteran JaVale McGee stepped in admirably and the team didn't miss a beat.

Devin Booker looks to lead the Suns in scoring for a fifth straight season. He paces Phoenix with 21.8 ppg, while adding 5.4 apg, and a career-best 5.2 rpg.

Veteran point guard Chris Paul continues to be a steady presence in his 17th season. CP3 put together an impressive line of 14/18/7 against the Pelicans, and will look to put out another impressive performance against a former team.

Miles Bridges is averaging a career high 16.3 ppg on 44% shooting from deep.

Prediction

It looks like Suns are beginning to build a bit of momentum, and it's unlikely this young Rockets team will come in and alter that. Look for them to take care of Houston here at home, and cover the lofty margin.

PICK: Phoenix Suns -10.5
