Preview

We'll receive our first battle of the Ball brothers this season when the Chicago Bulls host the Charlotte Hornets Monday.

Charlotte is in the midst of a hot stretch of play, and their winners of eight of their last ten contests.

Chicago has traded their last eight games after a hot start, and ther favored by five here at home.

Charlotte Hornets

LaMelo Ball's play has picked up in his second season as well. Ball's averaging 19.8 ppg, 7.9 rpg, and 8.2 apg, and he's coming off of his second triple-double of the season against the Rockets.

Miles Bridges has asserted himself as a frontrunner for the NBA's Most Improved Player Award with his impressive start. He's cooled down a bit since the return of Terry Rozier, but Bridges leads the team in scoring (20.3).

Scary Terry was surgical in the win over Washington, providing a handful of ankle breaking bucket. The former Louisville guard is averaging 17.4 ppg, and provided a big spark since returning to the lineup.

Gordon Hayward and Kelly Oubre Jr. bring unique skillsets to the lineup. Hayward's ability to score, rebound and distribute has been on display early, while Oubre's two-way style has made life simpler on Miles Bridges. Oubre has scored 20 or more in the past three games.

Chicago Bulls

Zach Lavine is playing the best basketball of his career, and it has the Bulls looking like a real contender out East. The eighth-year guard is averaging 25.3, 5.1 rpg, and 3.7 apg.

Demar DeRozan is enjoying a career revival in the Windy City. The former USC guard is averaging a team-leading 25.8 ppg, which would mark the second highest mark for his career.

Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso give the Bulls two of the better perimeter defenders in the league. Ball posted a double-double against Miami, while Caruso leads the NBA in steals at 2.3 spg.

Nikola Vucevic remains one of the best rebounding bigs in the league, and he's averaging 13.4 ppg and 11.1 rpg.

Prediction

This is going to be the best game of the Monday slate. With DFS options everywhere, among the primary three, Charlotte's spread feels good here. The Hornets could easily win this games, and spotting them five points in a game Bulls guard Zach Lavine may miss doesn't sound bad at all.

Take Charlotte's spread for this potential playoff matchup.

PICK: Charlotte Hornets +4.5
