Preview

The Duke Blue Devils will host the Louisville Cardinals this Thursday evening for an ACC battle.

The Louisville Cardinals celebrated Lamar Jackson's jersey retirement with a thumping victory over Syracuse. The Cardinals took 35-point lead into the locker room, and held on for the 41-3 victory.

Duke jumped out to a 3-1 start, but they've run into a rock with ACC play, dropping all six of their conference games.

Offensive matchup
Louisville (5-5)

Malik Cunningham has spoiled Louisville fans as a poor-mans Lamar Jackson's through three seasons behind center. His dual-threat ability has been on display all season, and he's scored multiple touchdowns on the ground in seven of ten games.

Cunningham is up to 2,286 passing yards with 13 touchdowns to five interceptions on the season, while leading the team with 709 rushing yards and an ACC-leading 16 touchdowns.

Freshman back Jalen Mitchell posted the first 100-yard game of his career against Syracuse, and he leads the backfield with 633 rushing yards.

Duke (3-7)

Gunnar Holmberg hasn't been able to keep up with these newly high octane ACC offenses. He's been able to game manage, and it just hasn't been enough during conference play. Freshman Jordan Moore is a name to keep eye out for.

Mataeo Durant has been the pulse of the Duke offense. They've struggled mightily through the air, but Durant has run for 80 or more yards in eight of ten games this season. He's up to 1,087 rushing yards with 11 total touchdowns on the season.

Jake Bobo has been the team's most consistent receiver. The senior wideout leads the team with 62 catches and 677 receiving yards.

Prediction

Louisville is much better than their record indicates. Three of the Cardinals losses have been by one possession, including to UVA by a single point. Their two-point spread at home with Lamar Jackson's aura in the stadium was a gift, and so could this eleven-point margin on the road. Malik Cunningham is a stud, and you should feel comfortable trusting the Louisville offense.

Take the Cardinals spread for this ACC contest.
