Preview

The Chicago Bulls will travel to the Toyota Center and take on the Houston Rockets this evening. Chicago is favored by nine points on the road here.

Chicago Bulls

The Bulls responded with a nice road upset against the Clippers last nite, snapping their seven-game win streak along the way.

Zach Lavine is playing the best basketball of his career, and it has the Bulls looking like a real contender out East. The eighth-year guard is averaging 25.9, 5.4 rpg, and 3.7 apg.

Demar DeRozan is enjoying a career revival in the Windy City. The former USC guard is averaging a team-leading 26.3 ppg, which would mark the second highest mark for his career.

Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso give the Bulls two of the better perimeter defenders in the league. Ball struggled against Indiana, while Caruso missed his first game of the season. Both guards have come in and made life easier on the Bulls star scorers.

Nikola Vucevic's potential return will be really helpful here, as the former All-Star is one of the best rebounders in the league.

Houston Rockets

The Rockets have run through veteran Eric Gordon and three young pieces in Christian Wood, Jalen Green and Kevin Porter Jr.

Wood posted a pair of double-doubles before having a quiet game in Boston Monday. The sixth-year vet out of UNLV paces Houston in both points (15.5) and rebounds (11.1).

Rookie Jalen Green had a nice stretch of play going, but he came back to earth with a subpar performance against Boston last time out. Green's inconsistencies are growing pains, but he'll be just fine. The $2 overall pick is up too 14.2 ppg for the season.

Kevin Porter Jr. came in late last season and contributed immediately. KPJ 's playing a bit out of position this season, but he's averaging a well-rounded 12.7 ppg, 4.1 rpg, and 5.1 apg.

Prediction

After taking a tough loss to Indiana, the Bulls enter a nice rebound spot here with a managable margin. The Rockets may keep things close early, but the star power should settle in and Chicago should easily cover here, especially with return of Nikola Vucevic.

Take Chicago's spread in HTown tonight.

PICK: Chicago Bulls -8.5
