Preview

The New York Knicks will travel to the Barclays Center and take on the Brooklyn Nets for a Battle of the Borroughs this evening.

New York enters on the heels of a hard fought road win over the Atlanta Hawks, but they've traded each of their last eight games and can not seem to find any consistency.

Brooklyn has only loss three times this entire month, and they are really beginning to hit their stride.

New York Knicks

Julius Randle is the leader of this New York Knicks team. The former UK forward is leading the team in points (19.2) and rebounding (10.2), and they'll need his best against Kevin Durant and James harden this evening.

R.J. Barrett has taken a third-year leap, but he enters this game with a questionable tag due to a non-covid illness. If he's unable to go, the Knicks will be missing their second leading scorer and arguably their best defender.

Kemba Walker's struggles have led to Alec Burks replacing him in the starting lineup.

Former MVP Derrick Rose leads an energetic second team, but he also enters with a questionable tag.

Brooklyn Nets

Kevin Durant is in the midst of an MVP season. The former Warrior has kept the Nets afloat with a league-leading 28.6 ppg, 7.6 rpg, 5.4 apg.

James Harden has endured his struggles this season but the former league MVP is starting to get things going, and he's coming off of his third triple-double of the season.

LaMarcus Aldridge has stepped up as a third option with Kyrie Irving still unavailable. The former Texas big has scored 15 or more in eight of his past ten games, averaging 13.8 ppg and 5.9 rpg.

Spark plug Patty Mills has hit three of more three-balls, in six of the last seven games.

Prediction

The Nets are starting to figure things out as a team, and it's clicking. Steve Nash is getting the best out of LMA, and role players such as DeAndre Bembry and James Johnson, while the stars continue to do the heavy lifting. The Knicks have looked like a fringe playoff team this month, and have visibly taken a step back. We're trusting Brooklyn's momentum for this one.

Take Brooklyn's spread cautiously tonight.

PICK: Brooklyn Nets -7.5
